Share Your World 15th May

Welcome to Share your World.
There are two ways in which you can participate:
Leave your answers to this week’s questions in the comments box below or create your own post.

To make it easy for others to check out your post, title your blog post “Share Your World” and link it to this one.

Ping-backs are activated, but don’t always work properly.
To play safe, leave a link in a comment, just to be sure or if you prefer, leave just the link if you don’t have anything else to chat about.
Instructions on how ping-backs work are found by clicking here
. Thanks!

Melanie always included an optional gratitude section at the end and I see no reason to change that.
Here are this week’s questions:

  1.  Children aside, do you celebrate your birthday/anniversary or is it just a normal day for you?
  2.  Do/did you always give your child a birthday party when they were young?
  3.  If your child was born on Christmas Day (or a few days either side of the 25th), did they have a ‘half birthday’ in June, two presents/celebrations, or something else?
  4. Would you prefer to give your child a party, or take them and a few friends on a special outing?

Gratitude
A child’s laughter is infectious, contagious and a bringer of memories to those of us in our twilight years.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

I gave my daughter a choice on her 18th. She could have a party or go bungee jumping. She chose the later and it was a great trip to New Zealand. She tells me it was the best time she’s ever had

Children aside, do you celebrate your birthday/anniversary or is it just a normal day for you? – Whenever my four siblings and myself reach a birthday with a nought in our age, we tend to celebrate together. I think my youngest sister’s Birthday is the next milestone, as she will be 60 in 2026…..I’m not 100% sure though 🙂

If a child was born on Christmas Day (or a few days either side of the 25th), why would one celebrate the birthday of that person as “a ‘half birthday’” as you call it, in June, to “two presents/celebrations, or something else”?

Instead of celebrating that pagan feast (Christmas) now there is a good reason to come together and have a celebration of a real human being and not of a false god.
