Ping-backs are activated, but don’t always work properly.
To play safe, leave a link in a comment, just to be sure or if you prefer, leave just the link if you don’t have anything else to chat about.
Instructions on how ping-backs work are found by clicking here
. Thanks!

Melanie always included an optional gratitude section at the end and I see no reason to change that.
Here are your questions for this week:

  1.  Do you feel comfortable walking in your neighbourhood at night?
  2.  When you shop for day to day things, do you pay by cash or card?
  3.  When was the last time you dressed up for a special occasion?
  4.   Have you ever lied about your age?

Gratitude:

Making someone happy reaps its own rewards.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

I used to run at 4:30am, and in all honesty I felt safer then, than I do when I walk at 4pm.

  5. Being able to safely walk whenever is the greatest luxury of all?
    Great questions.
I rarely shop but law officers say to not take purses to the malls – just tuck a card in your pocket for purchases. Sadly crime – by those pretty young – has gotten so bad. (and be careful when driving home no one is following you to rob you in your driveway) Sooo, We shop smaller local stores or order on line – no malls.
It’s been a while for dressing up
And no. I like my age and don’t care if others don’t HAHA

Do you feel comfortable walking in your neighbourhood at night? – Yes, most of the residents (if not all) are all older than myself and are asleep by around 9 p.m. anyway.

When you shop for day to day things, do you pay by cash or card? – Mostly card now but I still carry cash.

When was the last time you dressed up for a special occasion? – About a year ago for a reunion. There’s another one coming up in June.

Have you ever lied about your age? – Certainly not, I’m still 21 🙂

Hello, Di. I’m new to this. I found you by way of Sadje. I just read your bio – your life sounds fascinating and beautiful. Dogs, boats, and the water. What could be better? I’m hoping to get strong enough to get another dog. I haven’t had one since my Sputnik died in 2000. Here’s my blog for this question challenge. Thanks for hosting!

    • What breed was Sputnik? Maya is a GSD coming up for 18 months now, so still very much a puppy, just BIG!! She’s lovely though.

      • Niki Flow says:

Maya sounds like a great dog! My Sputnik was a rescue. He was six when I got him. He looked a lot like Benji, but I don’t know what breed that is. I’m hoping to get a Tamaskan. Do you know anything about those dogs?

      • Not a thing, so I looked them up.
Aha! A cousin to the GSD, lovely colouring.
        https://www.dogbreedinfo.com/t/tamaskandog.htm
Maya weighs in at 35kgs so she’s on a par with one of these beauties.
GSDs have always been my favourite dog and I have had three, but Maya is my first GSD puppy. She’s hard work as we are so much older now, but our efforts are paying off and the best thing we ever did was go to dog classes held by a GSD breeder, but it was open to all dogs. He was brilliant, but Maya is not one of his.

      • Niki Flow says:

Oh that’s a great idea. I’ll see if I can find a class near me. Thank you! Yes he’s going to be a lot of work, but I’m working on getting stronger. I grew up with a Belgian Shepard, and my boyfriend had a Doberman, Great dogs. Thanks again!

      • Maya has a doberman friend called Tia. She’s a few months younger than she is, but bigger already! If Maya is outside, and Tia’s going by, she either sits down and not budge until her owner brings her up to say hello, or she drags whoever’s walking her up to say hello anyway. It’s so funny. I quite like Belgian Shepherds, but would rather have the german. Maggie, Maya’s predecessor was a Sprollie (welsh collie x springer spaniel) and she picked me by crawling on my lap…… twice. We still miss her. Collies are my second choice.

      • Niki Flow says:

Sprollie sounds sweet. Pretty dogs! It’s funny how they pick us. Sputnik did the same when I visited the shelter. Stole my heart.

      • Lots of pictures of Maggie and Maya in my blog. Barney picked me too, by peeing on my foot!

      • Niki Flow says:

lol – well that’s one way of showing love!

      • The shoe he peed on became his ‘comforter’ and when that wore out, he had the other one!

  22. I don’t like going out after a certain time, and I wouldn’t feel safe walking on my own. I mostly pay by card, although sometimes I do pay by cash. I last dressed up for my niece’s wedding and she did my nails. I haven’t lied about my age, I am getting old, that’s okay.
