Welcome to Share your World.
There are two ways in which you can participate:
Leave your answers to this week’s questions in the comments box below or create your own post.
To make it easy for others to check out your post, title your blog post “Share Your World” and link it to this one.
Ping-backs are activated, but don’t always work properly.
To play safe, leave a link in a comment, just to be sure or if you prefer, leave just the link if you don’t have anything else to chat about.
Instructions on how ping-backs work are found by clicking here. Thanks!
Melanie always included an optional gratitude section at the end and I see no reason to change that.
Here are your questions this week:
- The First of May is a Bee Gees Song.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvr2n9q8t3I
Do you like the Bee Gees and if so, what is your favourite track? - What was the first record (single or album) you bought?
- Do you know what was top of the charts the day you were born?
(You can check it out here source) - Do you and your partner have a ‘special tune’?
Gratitude:
Music has no hidden agenda, it can inspire, soothe and calm.
1 – More than a Woman was a favorite…
2 – And When I Die by Blood, Sweat & Tears
3 – Nope.
4 – Moods for Moderns by Elvis Costello
Thanks Val!

Do you like the Bee Gees and if so, what is your favourite track? – Not really a big fan but I liked Night Fever and other Bee Gees tracks from the movie.
What was the first record (single or album) – The first single I bought was Co-Co by The Sweet in 1971.
Do you know what was top of the charts the day you were born? – It was Mary’s Boy Child by Harry Belafonte. He sadly passed away recently.
A sad loss. I remember his Banana Boat Song.
Thanks for joining in

1. I liked their early stuff but couldn’t stand the disco drivel. Words is my favourite.
2. Eve of Destruction, Barry McGuire.
3. Look At That Girl, by Guy Mitchell.
4. N/A – I’m divorced and we never had one anyway!
Thanks for joining in Clive. I like Words and World as well. So many tracks I liked to sing along to.
Yes, World is another good one. I would have mentioned First of May but as it was in your question I thought that might look as though I wasn’t trying 🤣
Ha. No worries Clive. It’s hard to choose and there have been quite a few mentioned this week that have memories for me.
It’s good that they bring back memories for you. I should also have mentioned To Love Somebody – a lovely song.
and How Do You Mend a Broken Heart.
Yup. Lots of good ones. Then they sold out.

1. I wasn’t a Bee Gees fan, To Love Somebody was probably the song I liked best though.
2. I can’t remember my first record of single I bought, it might have been a Beatles album though.
3. Source doesn’t have Canada, but Australia’s top was by the Weavers, Goodnight Irene.
4. Far too many to choose from.
Gratitude: I’m grateful for the gift of music, and have been singing in 2 choirs.
Lovely gratitude. Thanks for joining in.

I remember the Bee Gees only because of their music soundtrack for “Saturday Night Fever.” Never got into disco. By the time it came out, I was already mother and working full time in the publishing world. Disco was for single people.
They’ve written some great stuff over the years, but I think the disco era will be what they’re remembered for most.
