The Garden Dawdler #1

Rory has changed his Dawdler MO and we now have 9 questions once a week under the umbrella of the Garden Dawdler.

His questions for today are:

Is the WHY to everything important?
What would you list as your Top Five Fun Things?
Should we care about the dreams of others or only our own?
How well do you deal with criticism from others?
Do you say YES or NO more often, and which is it?
What is nose hair for?
What is the funniest comment you have ever received?
Novels or Netflix?
Do good things come to those who wait?

Is the WHY to everything important?
IMO not necessarily as long as the end result isn’t offensive or hurts someone.
However, I am instantly wary when someone is unusually nice to me as I wonder why and what do they want.
What would you list as your Top Five Fun Things?
Walking the dog, watching the dog run, card making, cooking, blogging.
Should we care about the dreams of others or only our own?
If we are talking about dreams when we sleep, then what others dream of is their business. If it is a dream to improve oneself or to follow an idea, then we have to ask are we included in that person’s dream.
How well do you deal with criticism from others?
I usually take it on the chin and cry afterwards. My MIL was very critical of me and could be quite spiteful, but I never gave her the satisfaction of seeing me cry. If something is meant as constructive criticism, then I take it on board.
Do you say YES or NO more often, and which is it?
Depends on the question and circumstances. I am not afraid to say No if the situation calls for it.
What is nose hair for?
To keep the boogers warm at night? Hell if I know. I think it’s supposed to act as a filter for pollutants.
What is the funniest comment you have ever received?
In response to a strawberry flan dessert: “This isn’t bad…….. considering you made it.”
Novels or Netflix?
No TV and I don’t read much now. Does Suduku or crosswords count?
Do good things come to those who wait?
So they say. I waited almost 33 years to find Hubby.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  1. Your desert comment resembles one I first got as a newlywed from my husband. He loves his vegetables almost raw in their firmness. He raved about my mashed potatoes then said he liked them because they were so very “lumpy”. LOL

  2. To keep the boogers warm at night cracked me up 🙂

  3. Sadje says:

    Excellent last answer Di.

  4. DA Whittam says:

My mum burnt food so much, my dad grew to like it that way, and I’ll only eat burnt sausages

What would you list as your Top Five Fun Things? – Listening to music, crate digging at record stores and fairs, road trips with my brother, visiting my sister’s, volunteering at the Red Cross charity shop.
