A Good Friday: 24th March

Not Good Friday as in Easter
    Go away, you’re too early

but a good day that happens to be a Friday.

Hubby’s INR is still in range and his next blood test is in four weeks! Hurrah!!!!!

We went into town and gave Maya a walk up and down the High Street. It was busy as it was market day and there were a lot of other dogs around………… all small and yappers.
Two JRTs went nuts as she walked by, not even close, practically slathering at the mouth and pulling at the lead. She did not engage, but was curious to know why they were so angry with her.

We went into two shops which have seen her growing up and she knows exactly where the treat tins are. Lots of fuss and she thrives on that. She also had many admiring glances, and a question that is becoming quite common now, which is are we going to breed from her.
The answer to that is that the jury’s out. We wouldn’t even consider it until she is at least two, and I would contact both her breeder and our trainer for advice as well as our vet, who had also asked. In fact, we had the same question asked today by a couple who are currently renting out a property here as they would be interested in having one of her pups.
This is Maya with her Mum, a photograph sent to me by her breeder.

My back has been giving me hell today and walking back to the car in town was almost a non event. I have taken 2 painkillers plus paracetamol and am now in bed having taken the amitriptyline as usual to help me sleep. I am finding a cold pack is giving me a lot of relief, but I haven’t been doing very much today. Luckily we have a quiet weekend ahead.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

I don’t like small yappers myself and I’m not even a dog! I hope your back pain soon eases off. I get flare-ups every so often.

    • Thanks Glyn. The back has been bearing up quite well today, no painkillers so far.
More yappers in town today I’m afraid but Maya ignored them. She did meet up with a four year old fluffy GSD and they rubbed noses. We then had kisses and both tails were wagging. Hurrah. Her socialising skills are improving, though she did want to play with him.

She is a beauty… I bet she’d have quality pups! But that is a hard choice and not one to make lightly. I do hope your back gets better soon.
