We forced ourselves

Paula, this one is for you.
It was Mothers Day this past Sunday and our neighbour was given a bouquet of cup cakes. They were so pretty and she kindly gave us one each yesterday.
They were too lovely to eat, but we forced ourselves……………. delicious.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Gorgeous and hoped they tasted great too

  2. I completely understand how you feel about receiving a beautiful bouquet of cupcakes. As a food lover myself, I know that the presentation of a dish can often enhance the overall dining experience. It’s always a joy to receive food that is not only delicious but also aesthetically pleasing.

It’s also great to hear that you were able to enjoy the cupcake despite feeling hesitant about indulging in something so pretty. I think it’s important to allow ourselves to indulge in the things we enjoy, especially when it comes to food. Life is too short to miss out on delicious treats, and I’m glad you were able to savor the flavor of that cupcake.

It’s thoughtful of your neighbor to share her gift with you, and I hope it added a bit of joy to your Mother’s Day celebration. As food lovers, it’s always exciting to try new things and experiment with different flavors and textures. Who knows, perhaps this cupcake will inspire you to create your own bouquet of sweet treats in the future! πŸ§πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ŒπŸ˜Š

    • Thanks for commenting. Our friend had a lovely Mother’s Day and we lit a candle for my Mum as she passed away five years ago.

      • It’s heartwarming to hear that your friend had a lovely day, and it’s touching that you took the time to remember your own mother who passed away five years ago.

Your words remind me of the importance of taking a moment to reflect on those who have left us and cherish the memories we have of them. It’s clear that your mother holds a special place in your heart, and I’m sure she would be proud of the way you honor her memory.

Thank you, Di, for sharing your thoughts and personal experience. It’s a reminder to all of us to appreciate and cherish the moments we have with our loved ones. 😊
