If you use WordPress, pingbacks are enabled but aren’t always working so double up and leave a link to your post in the comments as well for others to read. Also have a read of other bloggers posts if you can spare the time as some of them are terrific.

I have been very late accessing my blog some days and so I see later comments first. They all have to be approved manually, but even if they go into spam I’llfind them because I check every day at least twice.
