This week, Oloriel would like us to create or share a previous creation that was in a way influenced by music.
I inherited my Dad’s natural gift for playing the piano by ear and my music has seen me through a lot of sad and distressing times. However, as to creating something influenced by music, perhaps in a round about way as sometimes I have a CD playing in the background when I am making some cards, and usually end up singing along.
I love to sing and I know the words of these particular tracks by heart. Music has always relaxed me and then even the most fiddly bits work out better!

Two wedding cards I made last year for a friend so that she had a choice

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes!
In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too.
On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts.
From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives.
We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
Beautiful 💜
Thanks Willow.
We have something in common, I too play the piano by ear! I used to love entertaining my customers back in my pub days. Music is my constant companion too, classical mainly. Your cards are simply beautiful!
A kindred spirit! I’ve played in a few pubs in my time, but my forte (excuse pun) is the old musicals and ballads. Do you play in F# like me or any key that suits?
The cards are very pretty and I can just imagine you singing while putting them together!!
Thanks Val.
It must be really hard playing a piano by your ear. Would that be your right or left one? 🙂
Depends which octave, bass or treble.
Do the piano keys hurt your ears? 🙂
Nah, so long as I remember not to wear dangly earrings!
Wow! Nice work
Thanks!
