After our shopping trip this morning, Hubby set to lifting the existing floor tiles after lunch. This was the biggest job on the snag list.
He was pleased that they came up quite easily, but there was a sticky residue as we’d expected so was glad we’d thought ahead regarding lining paper.
I’d bought the heaviest density paper as it was to provide a clean and smooth surface for our fitter who comes on Tuesday.
Seeing the floor now almost the one colour (even though it’s paper) is giving us an idea of how the room will look when everything is finally finished.
It is very pleasing on the eye!

It is a first rate job Di, and it looks beautiful.
Hopefully this time next week it will be completely finished.

It’s amazing how something as simple as removing floor tiles can bring so much excitement and anticipation. Seeing the progress of the home renovation is truly satisfying, and every step taken toward the finished result brings a sense of accomplishment. It’s inspiring to see how your partner and you can work together towards a common goal and bring your vision to life. Even small details like the color of the lining paper can make a big difference in the overall look and feel of the room. It’s important to appreciate these moments and take pleasure in the process, not just the end result. ππ
Thank you. Hubby and I have always worked well as a team.
Youβre nearing the finish line
Most definitely!!
It looks great, Di. You guys make a great team.
We do Maggie. It’s one of our strengths.
Wow! Looks good. Gotta do something to my bathroom soon -this motivates me!
Thanks. We still have a way to go and at least the shower is up and running. The rest is cosmetic.
I have these tiny 1.25 inch tiles on my shower floor, ughhh! Have fun with what’s left to do!
We had something similar on the worktops in our kitchen. They looked nice when done, but did not wear well so after 5 years were replaced when we revamped the kitchen.
I hope the floor is finished soon and looks wonderful!
The fitter comes on Tuesday morning. Once that’s done, then Hubby can fit the plinths round the shower, block in the water pipes that had originally been hidden by the bath, and put our new cupboard in place. I want to get a carpet runner to put in there, and he is making me a step to get in and out of the shower as he’d had to raise the tray three inches higher than anticipated to accommodate the waste pipe. It will be wonderful when it’s done.
You’re nearing the light at the end of the tunnel…or at least the light on your bathroom ceiling π
Very true…………..either that or there’s a hole in the roof!
Well done π
This time next week all being well………………………..
