Bathroom Project Day 15

After our shopping trip this morning, Hubby set to lifting the existing floor tiles after lunch. This was the biggest job on the snag list.
He was pleased that they came up quite easily, but there was a sticky residue as we’d expected so was glad we’d thought ahead regarding lining paper.
I’d bought the heaviest density paper as it was to provide a clean and smooth surface for our fitter who comes on Tuesday.
Seeing the floor now almost the one colour (even though it’s paper) is giving us an idea of how the room will look when everything is finally finished.
It is very pleasing on the eye!

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

It’s amazing how something as simple as removing floor tiles can bring so much excitement and anticipation. Seeing the progress of the home renovation is truly satisfying, and every step taken toward the finished result brings a sense of accomplishment. It’s inspiring to see how your partner and you can work together towards a common goal and bring your vision to life. Even small details like the color of the lining paper can make a big difference in the overall look and feel of the room. It’s important to appreciate these moments and take pleasure in the process, not just the end result. πŸ‘πŸ˜Š

    • The fitter comes on Tuesday morning. Once that’s done, then Hubby can fit the plinths round the shower, block in the water pipes that had originally been hidden by the bath, and put our new cupboard in place. I want to get a carpet runner to put in there, and he is making me a step to get in and out of the shower as he’d had to raise the tray three inches higher than anticipated to accommodate the waste pipe. It will be wonderful when it’s done.
