Bathroom Project Day 9

Hurrah! The tray is in position and sealed against the wall!
Basically that was all we could do today as we have to allow 24 hours for it to ‘go off’.
Now you are probably wondering what ‘it’ is.
Well, ‘it’ is something we hadn’t used before and added an extra £25 to the bill, but ‘it’ is really good stuff and does exactly what it says on the tin……. or should I say label.
The sticky bit goes on the shower tray and the flexi bit stands above it that you tile over.
This stuff is so sticky, that once it touches a surface, that’s it, instant bond, so we had to get it right first time.
Once the tiling is complete, then you put a bead of sealant along the bottom of the tile to the shower tray so that the water can’t get behind it.

Our neighbour kindly offered us the use of her shower again this evening, so we are two very shiny squeaky clean and grateful individuals. Hopefully this time next week we may have our own in operation!

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Hopefully not long now for you, before you are in your own shower. But it will be so worth it.

I could do with some of that sticky stuff myself

The things you learn when doing a project! I think the wait will be well worth it to prevent any leaking or seeping!!

    • I am convinced that had we had ‘a professional’ in to do the job they would not have been so meticulous about the floor or the walls for that matter. Hubby always does a good job and this will be so worth it.

Fingers crossed you’re back to normal soon 💜💜
