This was how we looked a fortnight ago before we started.
Day 1 saw us get the bath out and putting down new floorboards.
Day 2 started off with a tip run and getting rid of the bath (a neighbour told me today that he could have used it to clean out his fish pond).
The bath that took us over the height limit at the council tip.
Hubby started de-tiling the bathroom.
All tiles now off the wall.
Day 3 was the last of the tiles off the wall (sadly none could be saved) and the beginning of the domino effect which meant DIY shopping and alternative ways of thinking.
Day 4 was plastering
Day 5 we hit a problem in discovering the floor was uneven…….. in two directions.
This meant the new floorboards would have to come up, or another alphabetical plan.
Day 6 our tape delivery was due in the early evening so we did some running around.
Day 7 saw the floor finally level and the boards back in place.
Levelling up and boards back in place.
These past seven days have seen little progress due to Hubby’s hospital appointment and a small tilt in noticing a possible defect in the shower tray. The company was closed for the weekend so we had some time off for R&R though sent an email with photographs of our enquiry. We followed this up on Monday, and again on Tuesday. Wednesday we had a copy of the email from the manufacturer forwarded to us by the plumbing company and all was OK so we could continue with the work. We had our neighbours in for curry yesterday so resumed the job today.
Di, I see that you are very busy today with your husband going to the hospital and all that work you are getting done on your bathroom, but I know how much you enjoy writing, so I tagged you to finish a story.

OK………… I’m on it……………….thanks!
Thanks, this is much appreciated.
A lot of hard work by the two of you Di 🙂 I hope it is paying off and I know once the new shower is in, it will be wonderful!
It’s coming together and we think the hardest part is over, but that doesn’t mean it will all be plain sailing from now on. That has never worked for us!!!
A small delay, but at least it’s sorted. Fingers crossed it all goes well from now on
Hope so Deb.
Progress! I hope it is smooth sailing from here on out!
So do we!
All the best my friend
Thanks
You’re welcome
I hope it’s all relatively plain sailing from now on.
We hope so. Looking good today.
