Something to share?

This week’s photo is credited to Fill1970 on Pixabay. It depicts two women seated at a table in a restaurant or at a gathering with one telling the other a secret. People mill about in the background.

At the firm’s Christmas party, Wanda leaned over to tell Toni some juicy office gossip.
Toni didn’t know how to keep a straight face.
Wanda was quite stuffy at work, but when she’d had a few (the wine was running like water completely free of charge), her tongue found its freedom and she loved to share.
‘Basil is having an affair with Sonia from accounts. It’s been going on for months!’
‘Really?’ she said feigning awe and wonder at this revelation.
‘Yes! George, one of the messengers, caught them kissing in a corridor, and it was no friendly peck on the cheek!’
‘And you’ve seen them do this too?’
‘Well no, not exactly, but I have been watching them very closely and there’s definitely something going on.’
Toni was head of HR and used to tittle tattle but she found this hilarious.
‘And you know what makes it even worse? ‘ Wanda continued. ‘ They’re both married!’
Turning her head towards the dance floor, Toni drew Wanda’s attention to the couple in question locked in a slow embrace smooching to a Lionel Richie ballad.
‘See!’ Wanda hissed triumphantly.
Putting her glass down, Toni said they were hardly keeping it a secret, then added
‘But it doesn’t really matter if they’re married. They are…….. to each other.’
And with that she stood up and joined the happy couple.
‘Thanks Toni,’ Basil said with a grin. ‘At least we won’t keep falling over her every time we go to lunch!’

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
