KL Caley is our host for the Thursday Write Photo challenge. This week’s picture is a gem!
For visually challenged writers, the image shows a huge battleship that has just travelled through Tower Bridge in London.
‘What the hell is going on! Who ordered Battle Stations!‘
‘Sorry Captain, but I think you need to see this.’
The Captain stared out of the bridge and couldn’t believe it.
‘How did we get here? And how did we get through that?’ he demanded.
Meanwhile, the crew were all running around like headless chickens wondering what to do, manning the guns and preparing for war…………. but against what?
It made a lot of sense when chaos was described as being all at sea.
Apollo was having a laugh with Poseidon.
‘This is my idea of a game of chess.’ he chuckled. ‘Your move…………..’

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes!
In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too.
On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts.
From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives.
We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
Ha – very good 🙂
Thanks
Great take and a nice twist at the end 💜💜
Thanks Willow

Ah! The ending is so very good!!

When I was younger I used wonder how those ships could get under the bridges. Not knowing at the time, the bridges ‘open-up’ to let the ships pass by.
Poole has two such bridges now, though the newest, Twin Sales has been out of commission recently. It was still in the planning stage when we left Poole in 2007, and since revisiting, we found it rather disappointing. Apparently it’s very pretty at night.

Haha! What a brilliant twist, Di! I loved it. You had us all captivated then pulled the rug out. Thank you so much for another fantastic entry to #writephoto challenge. KL ❤
Glad you enjoyed it KL.
