With the tiles and old adhesive off the walls, the next job was plastering.
Hubby is the first to admit that this is not his favourite job or one he is particularly good at, but his efforts today are great and we are getting closer to the end result. He has a small area left to do which he will do tomorrow morning.
We have some tiling tape coming on Tuesday which will seal the shower tray and tiles to stop the water getting underneath, so tomorrow will be spent preparing for that, and we might even be unwrapping the shower tray! Hubby has to sort out the waste pipe, but as it’s going to be on a raised base, hopefully that should be straightforward.
He’s exhausted but there is little I can do to help other than make cups of tea, make sure he takes breaks, and that he eats. The good thing is that he is sleeping well at night because he is physically tired as well as mentally.

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes!
In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too.
On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts.
From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives.
We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
I have been waiting for this , sounds like it’s going well ππ
So far only a couple of glitches, but it’s coming along.
Good ππ€π€
Itβs not only physically exhausting, itβs also mentally draining. My hubby gets so stressed waiting for something to go wrong, I think itβs almost a relief when it does
Oh blimey. Mine’s the other way, optimistic and the words ‘we just have to…………….’ rings alarm bells!! He’s pushing himself really hard to get it done.
He needs to be careful and not overdo it
I’m his moderator so trying to make sure he doesn’t.
I hope the rest goes on really well with no more problems arising.
Thanks Liz. He’s doing a great job.
Its coming along nicely! I am happy for you! xoxo
Getting there!
It is hard work.
Wow! I’m hoping that it will be done shortly! It is a pretty big project and I’m sure it will be a wonderful shower once it is completed!!
We anticipated two weeks so he is doing very well really. It won’t be finished by Thursday by any means, but the bulk of it will be.
Blimey. Most impressed!!
Getting there Geoff!
I’d say your doing a grand job as well as your hubby. Every little helps as they say.
I’m trying to help however I can.
