Sarah is our host and this week sees another new challenge.
Welcome to the Saturday Mix – No Nonsense, 21 January 2023!
You will be given a nonsensical, made-up word. You will need to come up with your own definition and use it creatively and in context, in your response. It is your choice whether you write using poetry or prose.
Your nonsense word this week is: “polershmett”
Polershmett: (n) a protective helmet worn by pole dancers
Geri stared at Jon, her trainer, aghast.
‘What the hell is that?’ she demanded.
Holding the head attire aloft, he explained
‘This is a polershmett. It is designed to protect that beautiful head of yours when performing the reverse manoeuvrers on the Centre Pole on stage.’
‘It’s not exactly glamourous! I mean look at it. It looks like a crash helmet that failed its road safety test! And what are all those wires and buttons for?’
‘This is the practice model. The one you will wear will have feathers and spangles, then laser lights will be projected as you spin throughout your performance.’
‘OK, so I’ll look like a peacock on speed, but what are they for?’
‘They will monitor your brain activity so that if there is any strain or negative issues, we can identify them and adjust accordingly. ‘
‘Adjust? What do you think I am? Some kind of performing robot?’
Peter took Jon to one side and whispered
‘Will you tell her or shall I?’
That is hilarious Di! I love it 😍
Hope you enjoyed the new prompt!
Good fun Sarah.
The motto should always be safety first when you are pole dancing. Nice story, Di.
Thank you.
