This morning we were up early as we had to load up the car to dispose of the body bath and the rubbish we have generated so far. Maya has been very curious about this huge white thing upside down in her garden.
I shall have to go with Hubby as staff at the tip are no longer allowed to assist the public, even if they are disabled. The bath itself is plastic but Hubby had a few problems getting the taps off. Loading it on top of the car made us appreciate our investment in a roof rack!

Wow, you put it on a roof rack? Be careful and don’t hurt yourself
It was surprisingly straightforward getting it on and off. Luckily it was fibreglass and plastic, not cast iron! If it had been the latter, we could have left it on the drive and the scrappy would have taken it.
Itβs gone now π
I wonder why the staff at the tip are not allowed to help the public. At our tips in South Africa, we have unemployed people just waiting to help so they can earn a few rands.
They used to over here too, but it’s now a question of Health and Safety I suppose. The guy today was as useful as a chocolate fire guard.
Well sounds like progress is being made !
No thanks to Mr Helpful at the tip when we arrived though.
ππ
Have a good day and hope everything continues to go along nicely.
Thanks Liz. Hit a bit of a snag today, but still on schedule.
I’m glad there are no floods where you are. If there was; you all could have jumped in the bath and rowed to the rubbish tip. π
We wouldn’ t have got far and sunk…….. no plug!!
Fair enough π
Good to know you are on schedule! I guess I’m lucky. Our trash pick up will take large items like appliances and bath tubs if you call ahead! All we have to do is get it to the curb!
We have a scrappy who will take all scrap metal except fridges and freezers unless he has a special disposal licence. We put the old leaky radiator out and it was gone within half an hour!
