Morning Dawdler #7

Rory is our host and these are his questions:

What are you currently watching or reading?
What is the weirdest food combination you enjoy?
How long would it take to notice subtle differences in your neighbourhood, signalling something terribly wrong? [What would those differences be to make you feel worried?]

What do you think of garden gnomes?

What are you currently watching or reading?
Currently working my way through my reader as I was late accessing my blog again today.

What is the weirdest food combination you enjoy?
Pineapple, cheese and mushrooms on a burger (with fries!)

How long would it take to notice subtle differences in your neighbourhood, signalling something terribly wrong? [What would those differences be to make you feel worried?]
We live at the entrance to our road and with our lounge at the front, tend to perhaps notice things more than other people. I would be worried if I saw no traffic going in or out of our road.

What do you think of garden gnomes?
They remind me of the movie The Full Monty and also my parent’s dog who ate one of the garden gnomes in the house opposite when I was a child. She made such a fuss, my Dad replaced it but asked to keep the old one. This was put on the pelmet above the patio doors and if ever the dog was naughty, the gnome was pointed at and with his tail between his legs, he took himself to bed and stayed there.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Hehe! Poor dog was probably traumatized and had PTSD triggered by the gnome!

  5. Hey Di, wow, that combination of ingredients must have made the bap quite wet? Poor old gnome, poor old dog but lessons learned and seventeen and a half is a wonderful age for a dog 🙂

    • Not really but I find it easier to use a knife and fork to eat it rather than taking a bite!!
Yes, he was a lovely old dog. It was years before they got another, and when they did, he lived to be 15.

What are you currently watching or reading? – I’m currently binge-watching Tokyo Vice. I’m currently reading a seventies sci-fi paperback called Jandar of Callisto by Lin Carter….again (I now have all four books in the series)
What is the weirdest food combination you enjoy? – Cheesecake (well, it is weird when you first hear about it).
How long would it take to notice subtle differences in your neighbourhood, signalling something terribly wrong? [What would those differences be to make you feel worried?] – Not long. I live in a complex where there are mostly older residents.
What do you think of garden gnomes? – Ha ha ha! Hee hee hee! ……
