Maggie has posed the following questions to satisfy her curiosity.
Care to join in?
1. How many times per week do you post? Do you post multiple times a day? If so, how many?
I post a lot, sometimes as few as 3 and maybe as many as 10 posts a day. I confess to being a windbag.
2. How many blogs do you follow?
According to the list, 139. I’ve just gone through it and only about 50 post on a regular basis.
3. Do you read all the blogs you follow every day? If not, how often do you read other blogs?
I read most of the posts that come into my reader every day.
4. Do you seek out new blogs to follow? If so, how do you find them?
If someone new follows me, I’ll check out their blog. Some don’t exist and many are commercial sites so they get deleted, but occasionally someone sparks my interest and I’ll read some of their writings. Other times a post is reblogged by someone I follow and if that interests me, I’ll visit that site and might follow them.
5. Do you comment on the blogs you read? If not, why? Do you respond to all the comments left on your blog?
Not all of them, other than a like, as it depends on the content.
I do respond to all comments left on my posts though. It’s only polite.
6. Do you ever close comments on a blog you post? If so, why?
After getting hundreds of spam comments on old posts, it was suggested I close comments after 30 days. This has reduced my spam to just a few now.
7. Do you ever unfollow someone? If so, why?
I have unfollowed a few people in the past because their posts no longer interest me.
8. What content inspires you to follow a blogger?
Anything to do with dogs, humour, poetry, every day things that make me think.
9. What content turns you off from following someone?
Consistent grammatical errors, length, repetition, bad language unless I feel it’s relevant, preaching on a subject or trying to impress their views on me.
10. How important is it to you that you add a photo to every post?
IMO photos are very nice but not always necessary.
11. Leave me a link for one blogger (other than yourself) that you think I should check out.
I think you already follow or read someone I might suggest, so I’ll pass on this one Maggie.
Thank you for responding, Di. I try not to spend my entire day blogging else nothing else gets done. I always wonder if others have more free time than I seem to.
After getting up, it’s breakfast, housework, walking the dog, grooming the dog (it seems we are getting a small shih tzu out of her every day!), getting a meal, but the first thing I do when I do log in is check my emails and respond to any messages, then into my blog. This can be anytime, sometimes quite late as it depends what else is on our agenda.
I think my answers would be very similar to yours.
Thanks!
