Throwback Thursday #70 – A Year in Review

Maggie is our host this week and asks us to look back on 2022.
Here are the prompts:

  • What have you loved about 2022.
  • Do you have regrets?
  • What did you lose?
  • What did you gain?
  • What was your greatest accomplishment?
  • How was your balance between happiness and sadness?
  • And lastly, what are you happy to leave behind and what do you look forward to?
  • Anything more you want to add?

What have you loved about 2022.
We got Maya.
Do you have regrets?
Not really. It’s been a pretty uneventful year apart from health issues. My Mum would have been 100 this year and I wish she had been here to celebrate it.

What did you lose?
Not enough weight, but at least I didn’t gain any.

What did you gain?
A State Pension when I turned 66 in May!

What was your greatest accomplishment?
Keeping our heads above water and still not owing a penny to a soul.

How was your balance between happiness and sadness?
About 50/50, but 75% of the sadness was frustration with medical care.

And lastly, what are you happy to leave behind and what do you look forward to?
2022 was not a bad year for us, but it wasn’t one of our best either.
As for 2023, I hope they can get our health issues sorted out as they have been going on too long.

Anything more you want to add?
Happy New Year to all my readers,

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Lovely summary to your year, Di. Health issues have plagued us this year, too, and they always seem to consume so much of our lives. Maya is definitely a bright spot! Wishing you a happy and healthy new year. Cheers, my friend!

I gained a bus pass which came in very handy.
Yes, my health definitely brought a lot of sadness for me this year (more than most years).
I’d add that we’ve lost a legend in football. R.I.P. Pele. Too many gone this year.
    Happy New Year Di.
