The Winter Solstice is now behind us and soon we can say goodbye to 2022.
Contrary to the month, our weather is more like October, which is confusing, but then nothing in this world is absolute anymore, least of all the seasons as we knew them.
Gone are the cosy nights to recline in comfort toasting our toes in front of a warming fire. As the snowflakes begin to fall, we are huddled in layers and blankets, sometimes in darkness waiting for power to be restored.
The latest catalog of events have painted a bleak future for many. Day to day living is tremulous as we try to channel what we have to make our lives the best we can.

About pensitivity101
I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes!
In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too.
On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts.
From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives.
We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
The weathers gone totally nuts! ❤
Thermals or bikini…………… or maybe a bikermal.
I love how you were able to use the words to fit current conditions for many around the world. Very nice job!
Thanks Lisa. Happy New Year to you.
You totally crunched that challenge. Have a great New Year. 🙂
Thanks Marsha. You too!
Excellent usage of words with regards to strange weather patterns and a bit of upside-down life.
Thanks June.
Amen! The fluctuations in the weather is scary with the price of fuel continuing to climb!
Prices at the pumps have been coming down but will soon go up again, especially if they go ahead with a 2p increase in duty fees.
Very true, it’s becoming a choice between heating and eating for us during Winter
It’s the same for a lot of people over here too. We shall find it next winter as our current fixed tariff expires in October.
Our government has announced an additional rebate for pensioners starting next year, but prices are forecast to increase by 25%, so the benefit will be eaten up with that increase
Our pensions are supposed to go up by 10% next year, but the cost of living for shopping is currently 16% and energy faces another hike in January and April, though our government has capped it in April for a year. We can expect to pay four times what we are currently for energy as our tariff is only a fraction of what it costs now because it was set up before it all kicked off and was fixed for two years. I’ve budgeted accordingly and it will hurt on the accounts until we get used to it which we will have to as we have no choice. Maybe things will settle down in the next 9 months, but I don’t think so as the energy companies have got away with it and still are, making billions it profit at the expense of life.
Too true, it’s all about profits 😔
Hope you can manage Deb.
Nicely done
Thanks
