Nip over and join in with Rory’s coffee time questions
15 questions this week! Let’s get to it.
01 | Do you sometimes ‘just’ LIKE posts from those you follow but don’t often read the content, and if so, why do you do this?
Is it a time restraint or something else that motivates this action? |
02 | What do you do with gifts you have received but have no use for?
It is not uncommon for such gifts to be recycled or donated to a charity shop after a couple of years. The best ‘gift’ was a wine rack and some shot glasses. Neither of us drink. |
03 | Have people become lazier concerning cooking do you think, or is it more a case of people not knowing how to cook? I think more of the latter or they simply don’t have the time. After a long working day, preparing a meal for the family can be exhausting. Is cooking considered a valuable skill by you? Most definitely |
04 | What news stories, in your opinion, have so far defined the 2020’s and what do you think they have taught us personally as individuals? Celebrities, and lack of tolerance. |
05 | What would you never swallow even if you could? Oysters |
06 | How many hours of sleep do you get a night, and how many hours do you think you need and why? I’m lucky if I get 6 straight hours. Apparently as we age, we need less according to some experts. I’m shattered by midday, but unlike Hubby who has the gift of being able to nap in the afternoon, I can’t. |
07 | How important is it to you to have a clean house or environment to live in and does it have to be pristine? I like our home to be welcoming, tidy, and as clean as can be expected with a dog constantly shedding her fur! I once put housework ahead of visiting my MIL in hospital and have always regretted it, as I was the only one who didn’t visit her that day. I felt terrible so have never done it since. |
08 | Could you give up your Smartphone and break your addiction to it? Don’t have one, nor want one. |
09 | What have been five of your best TV shows from the dawn of dot to today? I can only think of two: NCIS and The Waltons. You can add Tom and Jerry, The Pink Panther and Roadrunner though. Why were they good? I like Mark Harman, and The Waltons were family life as I wished it |
10 | Why is life not a bed of roses but a bed of thorns? Even something beautiful can hurt. What makes your life good and or bad? Sharing the ups and downs makes life easier. |
11 | Toasted waffles or toasted bread, and why? Usually bread, but not often now. |
12 | How do you feel about the ageing process and you? Getting old sucks. Since hitting 60, my health has gone downhill. I’m doing OK, but wish things were better, as we all do I guess. |
13 | What is the last rebellious thing you did? Had chocolate on a diet day. |
14 | What would be your ideal ‘you experience’ of the following …. museum, theatre, spa day, bungee jumping? Spa day. |
15 | Could you easily step off the planet and away from society and your friends and being social and also away from the Internet for 12 months? Apart from the internet, I thought we’d already done that with Covid. |
Very well answered Di.
Thanks Sadje
You’re most welcome
None of your answers were a surprise – you are so level headed and sensible!! And the last Q. and your A. – absolutely!
Thanks Val.
Your answers make a lot of sense to me.
Thanks Lauren.
Oysters! Bleah!
I know!!!
Interesting answers Di – however the last question … the Internet featured hugely with Covid, without it people couldn’t have remained social or blogging or socialising through the platforms. So Internet away could you then leave for a period of twelve month everything to do with sociality including Internet socialising?
What was it about the Waltons family life that appealed?
I am with you 120% on the oysters 🙂
The last question was interesting Rory. Hubby and I probably could, but leaving everything to do with everyday life, like shopping or walking the dog, could prove problematic, as they are our usual means of socialising anyway.
I just liked the closeness of the Walton family and how they all pulled together. I was a child though.
What do you do with gifts you have received but have no use for? – I would take them to a charity shop usually.
What would you never swallow even if you could? – Yes, oysters as well as you.
How many hours of sleep do you get a night, and how many hours do you think you need and why? – I try to get at least 6 hours of sleep at night. Sometimes I’m lucky if I even get half of that.
What would be your ideal ‘you experience’ of the following …. museum, theatre, spa day, bungee jumping? – I’d choose the museum.
I feel rested after 6 hours, but 8 would be nicer. I’m a light sleeper though, so if Maya moves or Hubby rolls over, I’m awake.
I’m like you, I slepp 5-6 hours and barely cope with still working full time, but if I have a nap that night I’ll get about 90 minutes if I’m lucky
I had an early night last night because I was so tired and couldn’t sleep!!!
