Lauren is our host this week and you can join in here
This week’s rerun prompt is: That Was Then And This Is Now
1) When you were a kid, what were your creative outlets? As an adult, what have you created that you are most proud of?
As a child, it was my music. As an adult, my music, my writing and poetry, and making my cards.
2) Have you ever saved someone’s life? Did you ever witness someone’s life being saved? Did someone save your life?
No, but after my father died in 1996, I took a first aid course and became a first aider at work for 5 years.
3) Did you ever get lost as a child? How did you handle it? Do you get easily lost now?
Not as a child. As an adult, I got lost in my home town as they’d changed the road layout and I turned left instead of right.
4) Did you search out presents your parents hid from you? Did you get caught? Do you hide presents from family members as an adult? Are they ever found?
No, I always waited. Still do.
5) Do you have a special song that was sung to you by either of your parents? Did you sing to your children? (or pets) Care to share the tunes?
No and No as I have no children.
6) What’s something you were afraid of as a child? What is something you are afraid of as an adult?
Spiders. That hasn’t changed.
7) What do you wish you would have learned more about in school?
Languages. I have a good ear for music but was useless at foreign languages.
8) Is there something outside of school you were so interested in you taught yourself about it as an adult?
Probably cooking, though I never went to college. It was literally hit and miss.
9) What made you laugh most when you were a child? What makes you laugh out loud now?
Puppies , kittens and babies expressions always raise a smile with me, even now.
10) What’s something from your childhood that helped to shape your outlook on life?
My Dad. He was always there for me, be it for my music, helping me with my homework, or teaching me how to balance my bank account!
I like your cards.
Thank you!
Thanks for joining in Di. It’s wonderful that your dad was so involved in your life
I actually sing to Annie often. So far, she has never told me my singing stinks
Lol
I love to sing and Maggie never seemed to mind, or me playing the piano. Maya looked at me quizzically, but seemed OK about it.
Great answers!! And the spiders are still a huge fear of mine!!!! Yikes!
Always will be for me, but I am better than I was and can tolerate the small ones now.
Spiders can be creepy
I am better with the small ones now, but anything bigger than half an inch and my blood runs cold.
Your cards are lovely, Di. I wish I had been exposed more to music as a young child – specifically piano. I am envious of your talent.
Thank you. I inherited my Dad’s natural gift and my music has seen me through a lot.
Do you have a special song that was sung to you by either of your parents? Did you sing to your children? (or pets) Care to share the tunes? – My father sadly died when I was 14 years old but I remember him singing a song which I think was called; ‘Picking The Bluebells In The Merry Month Of May’? I must have been about 5 or 6 at the time and he must have sang it to my brother and sister too.
What do you wish you would have learned more about in school? – Maths was my worst subject at school and I still sometimes struggle with figures to this day. I wish I had more help with that subject at school.
Thanks Glyn.
Maths and Music were probably my two best subjects at school. I love figurework, so my analytical job in the bank was right up my street!
Music and art were my favourite subjects
We both had a similar number 10💜💜
So I see.
