The day is grey and chilly, but at least it’s not raining.
We have nothing on our agenda today, so hopefully we can have a lazy day doing just that, NOTHING!
I have a dog asleep at my feet, we’ve had breakfast and I shall be cooking fish for Hubby’s lunch and a tomato and ham pasta for me. I might even do a batch of rock cakes as I’m using the oven and they’re something Hubby can easily swallow. Since his coughing fit at the beginning of the month and all the visits to A&E, he has been suffering with reflux again and we feel we are right back where we started.
So, we will retrace our eating habits and revert to soft foods or soups for him and hope things settle down.
December is just around the corner and the music in shops is blaring Wizard, Slade and the like. I prefer the soft ballads of Bing Crosby and Nat King Cole to the loud noise assaulting my ears, yet when they were first released in 1973, I was MUCH younger and my ears not so sensitive! I suppose for them to still be popular (if not my choice!) some 50 years later has to account for something.
Take care and keep safe everyone.

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes!
In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too.
On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts.
From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives.
We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
Have a wonderful NOTHING day π
Hope to!
Enjoy your quiet day ππ
So far so good…………… and I’ve baked
Oh! I love rock cakes!
These would make a good wall………. actually they are not bad and how I like them, fluffy on the inside and just crisp on the outside. Lovely with butter or cheese.
Or even jam π
Mine aren’t so good with jam, unless of course there’s clotted cream to go with it!
Oh! Of course what else!
I can feel the button straining already!!!

sometimes a few things are enough to enjoy life. Having a dog means lots of love and if it rains then it’s a beautiful day. Happy weekend to you and lots of serenity. πΌπΈπ»πΉπΊ

We’ve had some heavy showers and people were coming into the shop to dry off. Not a bad thing if they actually buy something!
