Today is Thursday 17th November

It is two years ago today that we lost Maggie. It seems like only yesterday even though we have Maya now, and it would not surprise me if she is whispering in her ear how she can wind us round her little paws……….. which aren’t so little now!
We have a PIR nightlight in the bedroom which comes on for no apparent reason and cannot be triggered if we move in bed or kick off the sheets. We always had one on the floor so that Maggie could see where she was going if she had to get up in the night for a drink. Maya sleeps in the bedroom with us just like Maggie did, but she has her own bed and that’s on the opposite side of the room.
It doesn’t worry us though, in fact it gives us comfort that she visits as we still miss her so terribly.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Maggie was very special! I think all the readers felt they knew her (and we all miss her)…

Yes, it does seem like Maggie is paying you a visit. I lost my dog; Kimba, a few years ago and I’d really like to get another one next year, all being well.

    • I didn’t want another dog after we lost Maggie, but after three months, Hubby said I was shit without a dog so we started looking. It was fifteen months before we found Maya and she is wonderful. She’s made her own place in our hearts along with Maggie, Barney, Kizzy and all the other dogs I’ve owned.
Any idea what you’ll go for with your new pup?

I’ll more likely take another ‘rescue’ dog. One around two or three years old and possibly another collie cross?

      • Maggie was a collie x springer and we had the wacky end of both. She was 8 weeks all but 3 days old when we brought her home. Barney was a pure border collie, though from his colouring we think he was crossed with a fox! Collies are my second favourite dogs.
