Card making session 13th November

I really got stuck in today and have made 21 cards. These and the ones I’ve already made  should be enough now for our friends and those I have to post. Stamps are not an issue as I have plenty of Christmassy ones left over from previous years which are valid until 31st January 2023.

I was playing with glittered paper today, and the quality of this is so much better than the stuff I bought last year which came off on my hands, the table, my clothes and work mat leaving the paper on the card bald in places!
My favourite today was this one:
I doubled the front back on itself and added a piece of silver glittered paper. Then I used silver mirrored card on the backing and the topper overlaps both. My ‘Merry Christmas’ is in silver glitter.

I have found that my recent purchases of blank cards have been disappointing.
The envelopes have no glue so I have to use double sided tape as they don’t tuck in either, and the card quality itself is much thinner than the usual brand I buy.
Cutting out templates is also hit and miss as sometimes the card tears rather than cuts.

I have noticed in several places where I used to buy my accessories that there is little choice now. However, I know which card manufacturers to avoid and will pay a little extra for better quality when I next need some.

Addendum
I have just read Oloriel’s Sunday Confessionals post and this post is absolutely perfect!

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
