It has not kicked off very well with our water supply being cut off due to a burst main and likely to be so for about six hours. One thing about the water company here is that they are on the ball and don’t delay in getting things fixed. We reported it at 9 am and had a report at 9.08 that it had been located and the engineers were in attendance.
Luckily the kettle was full so we could have breakfast.
Hubby rang the doctor’s surgery this morning and three minutes after opening the lines he was number 24 in the queue. He held on and got through to reception in about 20 minutes. Someone is calling him back this afternoon regarding the flare up of his diverticulitis and the need for another antibiotic prescription.
I woke up with a horrendous headache and in a foul mood. I guess things are catching up with me. My back still hurts but a least there is no need for painkillers so far today.
I’ve made another batch of scones/rock cakes as they went down rather well yesterday and Hubby had the last of them this morning.
Lunch today is a slap together cottage pie using the tinned stewing steak I found at the back of the cupboard. We’ll have it with mixed veg as once hot, it was no longer solid and there is lots of gravy. I couldn’t spread the mashed potato on top so we have floating ‘dumplings’ instead. Sadly I’ve added an onion now so Maya won’t be able to have any.
Ah, water now back on. At least I can make another cuppa!
Hope your evening is better
