My question earlier was
Would you still have any booster jabs offered to you or do you think they are now ineffective?
Reports in the media say yet another Covid strain is making its presence felt and the number of infections are growing.
We have had both of our vaccinations and a booster, and have received several emails and texts to say we are eligible for a second booster as we are both over 65 and in a high risk group.
Trying to book an appointment online was a bit of a joke as there were no appointments available anywhere and we were advised to ring the NHS Covid line.
Hubby eventually got through after about 20 different messages and options to speak to an individual and although English was not their first language, they tried to help us.
The nearest they could fit us in was 47 miles away.
Talking to a neighbour, he had a website address for the company running the show so I sent them an email over the weekend. I got a response yesterday as they are only available Monday to Friday, and links followed to our mobile by text. I was then able to book consecutive appointments in a fortnight at the local surgery here.
Our logic is that some protection is better than none. We have had our flu jabs already, and will continue to have any Covid boosters offered UNLESS there is a legitimate reason not to. We have already noticed a rise in the number of people wearing masks when they shop, and we are still keeping our distance from people we don’t know or masking up when we are in a different town, especially where shops are busy.
Basically we are doing everything we can to help ourselves and keep safe, so if the NHS are going to give us booster jabs, then we’re all for it.
Yup. I’m back to the mask – not only to reduce exposure to COVID but also all the cold germs and the flu bug…
Flu is quite rampant here too………….
We’ve been talking about having the second booster, but other health issues keep getting in the way
We’re all booked now so another thing off the to do list.
I’ve had my booster too! I wouldnt not get it! Its far too risky!
Ours are due in a fortnight.
