Share Your World improvised: Just in Case

I’m aware Melanie has been having some computer problems and I’m late accessing my blog today but can see no Share Your World for today, so I’m jumping in Just in Case.
Melanie usually asks four questions  and you can join in either by writing your own post and pingback to this one, or leave your responses in the comments. She always offers a gratitude section so I am staying with that too.

So, my questions are:

1.  When you go food shopping, do you go with a list or amble down the aisles putting things in your basket or cart that you fancy or think you need?

2.  When the temperatures drop for the colder months, is there a specific date you put the heating on or do you flick the switch when you start to feel cold?

3. Keeping with the cold theme, do you prefer a hot water bottle or an electric blanket at night?

4.  How do you feel about log burners? Do you think they are messy or cosy?

Gratitude:
When was the last time you laughed out loud?

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

I have a list, hubby does to. Improvising is more stocking up on specials. We got a brand new heating system this year, unfortunately due to rising power costs we hardly used it. The hot water bottle is my best friend 😊

Shopping is by list/necessity/specials, with a set limit.
    Heating/cooling is by temperature:
    single C figures before heater goes on, and it only goes on in the evening, and is off by 8pm;
36+C before cooler goes on, and only in the evening, and is off by 8pm. We have solar panels and haven’t had to pay a bill for 11 years, but last month it came close – too much rain and cloud and too many nights below 5C.
At least the sun is shining again, except for the days when it’s a risk of flooding … such is life. The garden is nicely green for a change and the tanks are full.
Never used a hot water bottle or an electric blanket. Throughout the years, the occasional cat has enjoyed preheating the bed.
We don’t use log burners – the local council is considering banning them due to people using them to burn rubbish. I’ve never liked them – I think you only need to experience one housefire to see too much risk in sparks (outside and inside).

  8. Thanks Di. I didn’t see a post from Melanie last night or this morning when I got up (Australian time) so I guess she’s still battling the computer or WP.
