For this week’s Truthful Tuesday Melanie asks for our thoughts on *EEK, GASPP*  🎃👻🎃

CANDY CORN   ??   Hate it, love it, it’s one of those things seen around a specific time of year and everyone has an opinion one way or another it seems.  If you’re from a country that doesn’t have a ‘thing’ for candy corn, perhaps you’d like to share a classic treat that your community or country does enjoy.

I’ve heard of Candy Corn, but haven’t had it. Here in the UK we have pop corn and candyfloss.
I was introduced to sweet and salty popcorn a few years ago which is a nice alternative to the honeyed popcorn aka Butterkist that was popular when I was a child.
Candy Floss though is known as cotton candy in the US. That was definitely something from my childhood and fairs, though we had a van come round with the gizmo to spin the sugar onto the sticks. I loved the stuff, but always managed to end up wearing it somewhere on my clothes. Of course in those days, it was always pink.

I have a fond memory of my MIL and candy floss amongst other things which you can read here

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Hehe! Candy corn is an institution in the US. It is usually only available around Halloween and Thanksgiving. My FIL loves it and we always have it on Sundays. Personally I would rather not eat any. But I end up taking a piece just to be polite!
