Today was Monday 26th September

It’s 6.30 in the evening and the day is almost over.
We had a field trip this morning to return our diffuser which had stopped working yesterday. There was no problem with that at all and the new one has been doing its calming thing on Maya as she is snoring softly.

She wasn’t too bad in town but again a lot was going on. When we were in the oils shop though, she lay down on the floor and was very well behaved, again we think because of the calming effect the blended oils are having on her.
Hubby washed her belly this morning and there is very little trace of the eczema now.  There are two patches that were really bad, but they are clean and just a little ‘too pink’, but at least she is not scratching or nibbling at herself. The tea tree and lavender cream is wonderful and she seems much more comfortable.

We did a little bit of shopping after having a trial of a journey into town as they are putting in a pavement and the tail back was over three miles when we joined it. Further up, they will be closing the road again from Monday, this time for three weeks, having only opened it in April following resurfacing which took 14 months! Luckily we have some local knowledge so can by-pass the major bottlenecks.

We had our water bill today and I was a penny out in my calculations. I don’t know what calendar they are using for quarterly billing purposes, but this one had 113 days and the last only 75. Still, my trusty spreadsheet shows we are still within budget for the year so I’m not complaining.

Have a lovely evening everyone. Take care and keep safe.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

We are entering the holiday season so they are frantically wrapping up all the road construction! I’m hoping that the main street through town is open soon. They are repairing the sewer pipes and have closed the road from 4 lanes/with a 5th turn lane to a single lane each way and NO turns allowed! There are times when is isn’t worth the wait so we detour.
