SYW my response 20th Sept

Here are my responses to the questions I set earlier.
1.   Are you an early riser or late starter to the day?
When I was working, the alarm would go off around 7.30 and I’d be on my way to work by 8. At weekends, I liked a lie in.
On the boat or when we were camping, we were up early, but went to bed early too.
Here, and with Maya, our day can start at 5.30 depending on if she wants to go out. Her tells are very definite, but lately we have been spoilt as she;s been letting us sleep on until gone 6!

2.  Do you adopt Breakfast like a king, Lunch like a prince and Dine like a Pauper.
This depends on where we are and what we’re doing.  When we were house hunting and staying in a B&B, we would have everything on the breakfast menu which would sustain us practically all day, then have a sandwich for our final meal around 6.
These days we have cereal or porridge for breakfast, possibly a yogurt or toast, then our main meal is in the middle of the day with a snack at tea time.
If we are out with appointments or such, breakfast is the same, but the rest goes for a bucket of chalk and we usually snack.

3.  Do you have a sweet or savoury tooth?
Sweet, definitely
4.  Would you prefer a hot relaxing bath or a massage (remember, family friendly people!)?
I have had a massage once, and to be honest, I prefer a hot relaxing bath with lots of bubbles. Sadly, this is not an option at the moment as it is difficult for me to sit in the bath and would need a fire crew to get me out, so hot showers will have to suffice.

Highlight of the past 7 days has been a clear mammogram and ultrasound.

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  1. Great post, Di. The simple and direct answer to #3 cracked me up. 🦷

Having a new pet baby is like having young children again. To their schedule 😁

    • I never had children of my own, and the youngest I had to care for (other than babysitting my nephews and nieces) was 3. Getting up for a puppy has never been a problem for us though. We never had anything at night and Maya was clean indoors after the third day of having her. I didn’t catch her for the first two puddles, but did for the third, and that was it. She is very positive in her tells when she wants to go out, and we don’t ignore her.

I’m craving sweets these days. That’s just piling on weight with very less walking.

I rise earlier if needed but will alway (unless sick) be up by 8:00 AM. I do the intermittent fasting so depending on when I have dinner will determine if I have a meal at breakfast time or possibly as brunch or even lunch! My big meal is at the end of the day but I try to keep it moderate in volume and caloric content… I have to admit to a sweet tooth. And since I only have a shower the option of a bath is out…

awesome your mammogram was clear and the ultrasound also! ❤
