SYW is a day late this week because of our Queen’s funeral yesterday.
I am pleased to hear that Melanie is on the road to recovery, but I am still your temporary host for Share Your World.
There are two ways in which you can participate:
Create a Share Your World post.
- Leave your answers in the comments box of this post or write your own post.
- To make it easy for others to check out your post, title your blog post “Share Your World” and link it to this post.
- Ping-backs are activated, but don’t always work properly. I think it is best to leave a link in a comment, just to be sure. It’s okay to just leave the link if you like and don’t have anything else to chat about. If you’d still like to try leaving a ping-back, instructions on how ping-backs work are found by clicking here. Thanks!
I also offer a ‘Gratitude Section’ for those who like a little affirmation with their questions! It’s always optional to participate in that portion of SYW of course.
I’m sticking with Melanie’s format and the gratitude section too so here are this week’s questions:
1. Are you an early riser or late starter to the day?
2. Do you adopt Breakfast like a king, Lunch like a prince and Dine like a Pauper
3. Do you have a sweet or savoury tooth?
4. Would you prefer a hot relaxing bath or a massage (remember, family friendly people!)?
My gratitude this week:

Prefer rising later than 7am, I’m a night owl. My dining cycle is the complete turn around of that advice. Sweet tooth, sugar kills. I can’t stand baths, and I don’t have the patience for massages. And they hurt. Highlight of the last week was auditioning for The Chase Australia (now waiting to hear if I got in). Gratitude: I have a beautiful husband who provides, and loves me even when I’m cranky.
Great responses Trish. Fingers crossed about the audition.

1. Are you an early riser or late starter to the day?
Kind of a mix up of both but I say more of an early riser. After a busy day I find myself getting tired almost immediately after dinner, around 7PM, and will often fall asleep in my recliner and wake up around 10PM. Then I’ll stay up till around 1AM writing, then sleep pretty soundly until 4/5-ish. I’ll write for a while before actually physically getting out out of bed. On a “normal day” when I don’t fall asleep after dinner, I’ll stay up till around 11:30-midnight, then sleep through the night, getting up around 7:30. We babysit for Colette 2-3 times each week so I’m up by 6:30 for her. On my physical therapy days I’m up by 5/5:30. Saturdays my husband leaves around 6am to go fishing; I usually hear the garage door opening and wake up. I’ll grab a cuppa, write a bit and often doze off for a while. Every day is different.
2. Do you adopt Breakfast like a king, Lunch like a prince and Dine like a Pauper?
No. Breakfast is light, usually a banana or 1/2 a bagel. Lunch is also light, maybe a smoothie, a protein bar, a turkey and Swiss cheese roll up. Dinner is light to medium. We like to eat fish, chicken or grill hamburgers or sometimes make pasta. Other nights we’ll get takeout. Sometimes we’ll meet one of our sons and the grands for dinner at the local diner. If I remember early in the day I’ll plan something for dinner; that doesn’t always happen but we never were the type to sit down to a big meal of meat and potatoes. Sometimes after a full day of babysitting I’m just too tired to cook and eat and I’ll grab a smoothie or a BLT. It’s just me and my mister so every day is different.
3. Do you have a sweet or savoury tooth?
While I do love sweets, it has to be at the right moment. I don’t look for cake or a candy but if I craze something sweet, it’s usually ice cream. I’m more of a savory person opting for bagels, almond or peanut butter, popcorn, yogurt with granola, cheese. But if there’s a pumpkin pie in the house, I’ll devour that thing!
4. Would you prefer a hot relaxing bath or a massage (remember, family friendly people!)?
Getting into and out of the tub is not easy for me because of arthritis. Once I’m in I can enjoy a nice soak but the calm is immediately gone when I start struggling to get out of the tub. We really need one of those walk-in tubs. For me its a massage which I get every time I go to therapy.
My gratitude this week: I lived, I learned, I laughed. I’m happy.
Thanks for the response! Love your gratitude.
Thanks for hosting. https://humorismandatory.wordpress.com/2022/09/20/share-your-world-9-20-22/
My drawing is coming on well. Maya is looking quite reasonable but now I have to decide, colour or grey scale 🧐
Wonderful!
