A very quiet day yesterday in all respects, but today looks like being busy.
I walked Maya this morning and she came across a yorkshire terrier who used to love Maggie but has never taken to her, so barks at her. She was curious, but held her ground, which I took as a good sign, then later a new friend who has just got a doberman puppy was passing and brought the pup up to say hello. Maya was very good with her, and they rubbed noses. This is also very positive after yesterday.
I took some pictures of the waning moon the other night and only two were really worth posting

I noticed this morning that our Peace rose is having another show and the bush is covered in buds again.

Have a good day everyone and keep safe.

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes!
In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too.
On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts.
From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives.
We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
Love your photos Di.
Thank you
You’re most welcome
Love the photos, your very lucky the peace rose is flowering again😊
This is it’s third, maybe 4th show this year!
Very lucky 😊
I counted 16 buds this morning.
Wow, the roses are beautiful. Glad Maya was ok with the dogs this morning.
So were we! It’s been a good day.
I was on campus yesterday and the roses outside my building are blooming again! Seems they nearly always have blooms well into November! Your peace rose is stunning! So good to hear that Maya has recovered her curious nature. We were at the dog park with Mochi. She likes the smaller dogs and many of the larger ones. There is a “you must be this tall” sign to enter the Big Dogs side (Mochi is a half a hair over the line) so is usually the smallest dog there. She plays and romps with the big dogs but if a big dog gets a little aggressive, she is back at our side in a flash. With the little dogs she is the biggest one there. I think the little ones are less friendly – and Mochi must agree because she prefers to go see the big dogs!
I remember socialising Maggie as a pup and we could not have worked it better. We took her to Hamworthy Park which is very popular for dog walkers, and met up with a wide variety, but the best bit was we seemed to meet them in order of size. The first she met were chihuahuas and yorkies, then jack russells, spaniels, collies, a dalmation, and her first stumble with Bella, a doberman, oft as a pan of dough, and she was fine. By the time we got back to the car, she was playing with newfoundlands and mastiffs. I love the sound of your park. We have nothing like that here.
