Today is Monday 12th September

It is 4.30 in the afternoon and it’s raining.

After being unable to get fuel locally yesterday, we had a field trip today, going to the bank, doing a little bit of shopping, and walking Maya in a crowded High Street. The latter was not brilliant to start with, but she did get better eventually.
It would appear our supermarket was not the only one out of fuel, though the other two major supermarkets in town were on a par with each other at 178.9p a litre. We are currently getting around 64 mpg which is not bad at all for a diesel vehicle with a 1600 engine.

We often pass a shop that sells essentials oils and natural smellies. The manageress took a shine to Maya when we first got her and always comes out to say hello. Today she had a lovely mix of bergamot, grapefruit, lemon and ylang ylang going which was very relaxing, so we have treated ourselves to an aromatic diffuser and the oils to have at home. It was an extravagance, but hopefully should help Hubby relax, and as the dog fell asleep on the shop floor, may well come in handy when we have fireworks. We’ve had a couple of thunderstorms which have not affected her too much other than to take notice, but fireworks might be different, so we shall see. We’ve mixed it as per the instructions and both my beloveds are fast asleep.

Have a good evening everyone and take care.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Sounds like you’ve hit on a great combination for relaxation. Bonus that it works on both man and dog!
