Truthful Tuesday 6th September: my response

My question this week was

How do you feel about ‘celebrities’ getting their fizogs in the press all the time, despite having said they want privacy then still crave for attention, can’t seem to make the headlines without getting their kit off, or basically aren’t happy unless they are slagging someone off.
This is my opinion, and I promise not to go on too long…………….

I remember the old saying about not washing one’s dirty laundry in public, but in today’s celebrity world, they seem to do an awful lot of it.

If it’s not high profile divorce cases, it’s estranged family, delusions of grandeur and attention seeking at the expense of someone else.

The media is again full of a certain Duchess who took on the role of her life in her acting career. I am in two minds whether to pull my original posts as my opinion has drastically changed and I cannot bear to hear her name. She upstaged another royal’s wedding, tried to take the shine off our Queen’s landmark Platinum Jubilee, and now is back in the limelight regarding her in-laws at a time that marks the 25th anniversary of the loss of a much loved royal before her time.
Estranged family is another issue and as always there are two sides to every story.
Half truths, different recollections of events, and self importance seem order of the day.

Other headlines are of celebrities taking nude selfies and posting them on line. Do we really care?
Fashion at events seem to be how much you can show through sheer fabrics (may as well wear clear cellophane) or how little fabric you can get away with.
Relationships also take a hammering with couples slagging each other off with claims and counter claims.

There is a TV show called I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here, which I have watched ONCE because we were in someone else’s home and it was on.
A number of hasbeens are taken to a remote island or forest (or during Covid a highland castle) and have to take part in ridiculous, sometimes gross challenges in order to be voted King/Queen of the Jungle (or whatever).
My idea of a show would be to take them all to a deserted island, leave them there and forget about them.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Can’t work out the obsession for them in truth. I’d rather have a conversation with someone who lives in reality. At least I know that what they say is more likely to have some relation to the real world

  2. Carol anne says:

Have to say Di, I agree! Take there to the desserted island and let them all stay there out of sight, out of mind!

  4. You absolutely nail it. Preach it, brother!

  5. ghostmmnc says:

Same here. I don’t care about celebrities at all or what they do.

Being famous for being married to another famous person is not worthy of my time. I just have other things to do! As for the Meghan, seems the only reason she does things is to get noticed by the pushy press – the same press that she claims she want to avoid!
