White Bunnies for September 1st

Here we go with another new month.
It’s another sunny day but we have a heady wind which is keeping us cool. Our boiler is being serviced today, but other than that, we don’t have anything else on the agenda.
The September calendar is filling up already though with blood tests, Doctor’s appointments and I have my annual mammogram on the 7th.
We had an early night last night, 8.30ish, and Maya went through until 5am so that was a bonus. We received a text at 11.05 from a neighbour who had been concerned about us and had attended the funeral of a darts colleague’s husband yesterday. They also let their dog out for her final business, and she’s a barker. Still, we have both woken up feeling more refreshed and we may do the same again tonight.

After breakfast, Hubby walked Maya while I did the housework and as there was nothing in the road when he was close to home, he let her off to come to me. She loves to run and was having so much fun at class yesterday. It’s just a shame there is nowhere safe we can exercise her and practice recall other than at class and what we are doing at the end of her walk if everything is clear. The beach is packed and there are just too many distractions.

I’m cooking chili for lunch today which will do us two days so I won’t have to worry tomorrow as Hubby has another blood test. The doctor has no idea why he is so tired as all of his blood test results came back clear, so she is arranging some other tests. I am seeing her on the 9th to discuss my Xray results and pain management for my arthritis.

I posted a couple of letters today that I had to check for fatness and four of the Hello cards I made the other day fall into the next category so will cost £1.05 to post. I bought the relevant stamps though as the last thing I want is for the recipient, who is more than likely to be in their 80s, having to pay the penalty for a shortfall in postage.

Have a good day and keep safe everyone.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Don’t you just love the term “Pain Management”? I really think a more appealing name is “Pain Abatement”! The mister and I go every two weeks for trigger point shots and the occasional cortisone shot. I also go weekly to a physical therapist for deep tissue massage which in my case has done more for me than all the trigger points, epidurals, and nerve blocks combined. If your doctor offers PRP for arthritis pain, I’d so go for it; the results are nothing short of miraculous. Good luck, good health and have a lovely day.

  5. Enjoyed you cheery chatter about you day,

Nice day so far! I hope the boiler check up is good and not too expensive a tune-up. Sparky let Mochi out without her leash and she was so good to come and sit so he could hook her to the long leash… We have a big field in the neighborhood that she can run in but I don’t completely trust that she wouldn’t go off chasing a squirrel or a feral cat!

Years ago, I would take my dogs to the high school track when school was out. They would run and enjoy following the occasional jogger. They always returned happily exhausted. Annie, on the other hand, would probably get herself into some trouble. She hates other dogs.
