I am late today as it has been one of those days and things kinda went pear shaped.
Our vet visit went OK , lots of ticks in the boxes about weight, teeth and general health. The vet believes the skin problems are allergies due to pollen, grass, seeds or similar and prescribed some tablets we were to give her twice a day for two weeks. We also got some Isoderm which we have used before for Maggie and Maya too, for the times when the tea tree and lavender cream isn’t enough. This cream is recognised by the vet so we shall make sure we always have a good supply of it (currently 7 jars of 50ml as it doesn’t come in anything larger).
We gave her the first tablet this afternoon and while I went shopping, Hubby took her for a walk. This turned out not to be a good idea due to too many people, the heat, and being lethargic to the point of ‘zonked out’. We looked the stuff up on the internet and calculated the sums of dose by weight, and it seemed rather high for a dog less than 12 months, so we rang the vet for advice and guidance. The receptionist checked with him and came back to tell us this reaction was unusual and that he would call us to discuss it later this evening.
His advice was not to give her any more, and to take the remaining 27 tablets back for a refund. Our bill today was £126.80, £73 of which was for these pills, less our discount. That’s a lot of money for something we can’t use, so we are back up there tomorrow after Hubby’s cholesterol reducing injection.
She seems OK now, has had her dinner and is currently dozing at my feet.

That’s a bit of a worry, I hope Maya’s ok now
She seems OK. I’ve taken her for her final walk and she was very good trotting along beside me taking it all in. She’s eaten her dinner and drinking OK
