We often walked this path
Together you and I,
Rain or shine,
Content in each other’s company.
Such peace and tranquility
When we needed time to chill.
We’d put the worries behind us,
Enjoy the song of the birds,
And rustle of the leaves
Caressed by the breeze.
Side by side we’d walk,
An hour, maybe two,
Step by step in perfect time,
How I miss you.
We shared the seasons,
Counted our blessings,
Two souls a part of each other,
Now one stands alone.
I scattered your ashes in your special place,
Now you can chase rabbits and squirrels
To your heart’s content.
You will always be here,
Enjoying rainbows
And the fresh scent of the rain.
We will be together again,
One man and his dog.

Touching poem! ❤
Thanks. We had so many walks with Maggie along forest tracks like this.
Yep, my dogs are running in the park and up to mischief
I hope Maggie found Barney at Rainbow Bridge.
That is beautiful! ❤
Thank you.
