Today is Tuesday 16th August

Another warm muggy day with expected highest temperatures around 23ºC .

Maya and I had our long walk this morning and met up with about 8 dogs. She was actually very good but one guy who walks two is as ignorant as they come. He gave us no space so I ended up in the middle of the road, and when I said good morning, he totally ignored me. Maya got a bit agitated and lunged at them, but I shoved a treat in her face and she was suddenly more interested in me. Hope that doesn’t give her the impression she is being rewarded for bad behaviour.
Hubby has taken the carpet up in the hall and is going to replace it with carpet tiles. We had them in the bungalow in Poole and they were brilliant. If they look OK and wear well, we are thinking of replacing the lounge carpet with the same. The skirting boards need to be painted so I went up the road to get the necessary paint and a brush for the job. The dartboard is coming down as we don’t play anymore and I can’t hold my darts let alone thrown them with any accuracy. This means that the hall will have to be decorated and the domino effect begins. (It will look lovely when it’s done)

Class has been confirmed as tomorrow morning so I shall be up early to walk Maya before we leave. It will be just her and me as I need to rebuild my confidence, though judging by the walks yesterday and today so far, it’s coming back quite quickly.

Have a good day everyone, and keep safe.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

I am sure one treat will not ruin her Di. Maybe calm her , make her sit until the irritating git and his dogs have passed then the treat?
I am glad to hear your regaining your confidence and good luck at class tomorrow 💜

Oh, decorating 😊. We’re replacing the back doors after my boss gave us some second hand ones. Their French doors so I think they’ll look nice

Sometimes we have to choose our battles; one treat will not lose the war! Wishing you a wonderful day!

  4. I didn’t know you gave up darts completely! I thought that was about the pandemic. So sorry! I know you enjoyed it with your group. Hugs to Maya!
