Share Your World 15th August

Hi, Di here and I’m your temporary host for Share Your World until Melanie is back on her feet.
From Melanie’s SYW introduction:

There are two ways in which you can participate:

Create a Share Your World post.

  • Leave your answers in the comments box of this post or write your own post.
  • To make it easy for others to check out your post, title your blog post “Share Your World” and link it to this post.
  • Ping-backs are activated, but don’t always work properly.  I think it is best to leave a link in a comment, just to be sure.  It’s okay to just leave the link if you like and don’t have anything else to chat about. If you’d still like to try leaving a ping-back,  instructions on how ping-backs work are found by clicking here.  Thanks!

I also offer a ‘Gratitude Section’ for those who like a little affirmation with their questions!  It’s always optional to participate in that portion of  SYW of course.

I’m sticking with Melanie’s format and the gratitude section too so here are this week’s questions:

1. Do you prefer to live in a single story property like a bungalow, a high rise apartment, or a house?

2. If you won a large amount of money on the lottery, would you want publicity or keep things quiet and low key?

3. How do you like your eggs? (No, this is not a trick question)

4. If cars were no longer available, what would be your choice of transport?

Gratitude:
Our aim is to make at least one person smile every day.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Hi All – I’m pretty new here and not even sure what a ping back is so I’m just gonna leave my answers right here.
    1. Do you prefer to live in a single story property like a bungalow, a high rise apartment, or a house?
    – We love the freedom of having our own house and property and have lived in single houses for 45+ years. We’re empty-nesters now and my mister is tired of doing of all the work involved in maintaining a house (the snow-shoveling, the home repairs, etc). We’d both love to live in a condo; the thought moving is daunting and everything is very expensive where we live but that is our ultimate dream – to live in a house-type environment but have all the work done for us!

    2. If you won a large amount of money on the lottery, would you want publicity or keep things quiet and low key?
    – Winning a lot of money is a double-edged sword and I would definitely want to keep it ae quiet as possible. I’m sue winners have long-lost “cousins” popping out of the woodwork all the time so nope … aside from helping out our kids and their families, I wouldn’t want anyone else to know.

    3. How do you like your eggs? (No, this is not a trick question)
    – I love eggs just about any way except soft boiled; I don’t like the runny whites 🤢. I don’t even like thinking about undone albumin! My favorite is sunny side up or over easy; there’s a way to cook them making sure the whites are cooked thoroughly while keeping the yolk wet but it’s tricky. It’s worth it, though, because when done right, there’s nothing more satisfying than jabbing a wedge of toast into a warm runny yolk. Omelettes are great, too, and I have a killer method for making sure the inside is never wet or undercooked. Maybe in another set of questions we’ll deal with recess; till then, the secret is mine! 🤣

    4. If cars were no longer available, what would be your choice of transport?
    – Since I can’t afford a private jet and I don’t trust myself on a scooter or bicycle, I’d get an adult tricycle! (Yes, the really exist!). I’ve broken my hip and also had a knee replacement so the last thing I need is to fall off a bicycle. A grownup version of a tricycle would be perfect for me … or a horse–drawn carriage; that sounds magical ✨

That was fun! Hope to see you all again soon! 🙋🏼‍♀️

    Nancy

    • Hi Nancy. Thanks for playing along. Tricycles are indeed still around, and we have a friend who does her shopping on hers and another who has a small trailer on the back of his!
Pingbacks aren’t that difficult once you get the idea and I do mine by highlighting the https:// line at the top of the post I want to refer to, and copying it into the post I’m doing, usually linked to the word ‘here’, using the little paperclip symbol on the menu bar. I’m still using the classic editor on a laptop, so I don’t know how it works on smartphones etc.

I Live in a three-story apartment building on the first floor. I would have loved to be on a second or third floor because you have a balcony and a better view. If I won the lottery I would keep it to myself and my family. I like eggs well done in any form. I do not like runny yolks or whites. I have not been able to drive for 10 years so I guess a bus would be best.

    • Hi! Thanks for joining in. The car question is raising some interesting points. We need a car where we live but like Marilyn, a bike would not be the answer. I haven’t ridden a pushbike in over 55 years!
