Truthful Tuesday with Di

Hi!
Melanie is our usual host for this, but as she is currently taking time out, I volunteered to step up to the mark for this and Share Your World in her absence.

As Melanie says, This is an easy prompt.  I ask one question, and the participant is to answer it honestly.
We have just had an Indian restaurant take over the pub at the bottom of our road, and provided the wind is in the ‘right direction’ aren’t bothered by the aroma of various spices used in their cuisine.

My question this week is this:
would you be bothered having a Chinese/Indian/Chippie/Pizza or similar on your doorstep or would you enjoy the convenience of having a takeaway outlet within walking distance.

Honest answers please, but remember I’m a family friendly blog!

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Definitely pleased to have a take-away option nearby.

  2. Nope, Not Pam says:

I don’t think I’d like it, more because of the traffic. I don’t sleep well, and would be woken continuously

  3. Leyde Ryan says:

I would LOVE to have a really good and affordable restaurant in walking distance! (We only have McDonald’s nearby–high-priced garbage.) I’d be so spoiled…and fatter, though 😉

If the food was good then I would make sure to be a good neighbour! And I would love the convenience. I was next-door to a Harvey’s once. They liked me.

  5. Paula Light says:

I wouldn’t mind as long as it didn’t cause traffic jams!

  6. Dreamer. says:

Having take-away option at doorstep sounds tempting but i think i will move away soon if it’s crowded and noisy most of time…

  7. Astrid says:

I am with Dreamer: the idea of having takeout food easily available sounds totally awesome but I wouldn’t like the crowds. I already despise the youth hanging around in my care facility’s parking space in the middle of the night during summer.

  11. It has it’s pros and cons. I wouldn’t like it if it was open late at night and was noisy but our little shop is usually closed by 7pm unless they are having a music night when it might be more like 10:30pm.

Across the road we have a pub, a chicken shop, a pizza joint, a bakery, and a coffee shop. Next door to them is the doctors surgery, the chemist, and the workout joint. We have everything we need.
