Today is Monday August 8th

Blood test this morning, and although his INR has gone up, Hubby is still way out of range so has another test on Wednesday and Friday.

I am thinking of starting a club for all of us who do not tick the medical boxes but know our bodies well enough to know when something is out of sync.
The professionals don’t listen to us and mess about with the numbers, and our health in the process, to make us fit into their textbook agenda.
No-one seems to see a patient as an individual anymore and I am expecting a similar thing on Wednesday when I should get a phone call to discuss the results of my blood test. There was no mention of my heart by the way when this appointment was made, just my diabetes results. The pharmacist, who was apparently unable to contact me last week (my phone showed no missed calls, was on 24/7 and constantly with me), should also call on Wednesday to discuss either my medication, which is not up for review, my iron levels, or concerns over B12. Confused? Yeah. Likewise.

It’s another hot day but at least we have a breeze. Maya has had two walks today so far and has been good on both of them. She’s asleep at the moment with her nose inside my slipper and using the other one as a pillow. I removed my feet from them before she stopped the circulation!

Have a good day and keep safe everyone.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

My husband and I are concerned with blood pressure readings and medicines used to adjust a number that is so wildly variable.

    • Our BP is pretty stable and we both take odourless garlic oil capsules which seems to help.

Maybe we’ll pick up a bottle and give it a shot.
Sounds like you’re having a nice day wherever you are, enjoy! I appreciate reading about it, reminds how nice it is to hang at home with the pets

(which is exactly what I’m doing while regretting not having gone out for a walk earlier–still, a nice somewhat cooler day in the forecast here)

      • It worked for us and we prefer the oil as the tablets gave us wind and weren’t odourless! The oil is much better and can be bought over the counter here in the UK.

Ha! Definitely will heed this advice

  2. A while back my dad’s doctor told him to get one of those little readers and take his blood pressure every day, one time, at the same time, and record it. That will give you “your” normal. My late husband used to have it taken at the doctor’s so many times because he would get so anxious that it would be high.

    • Hubby and I have a machine each now as we forgot to take it before I was due surgery and they wanted my BP readings over the weekend.
I’ve taken my machine in to the surgery with my readings as those on their machine were so different. She conceded I was constant enough……… on mine.

I’m sorry to hear you’re having such a difficult go of it.. having any kind of health problem is difficult enough without feeling like they’re all playing ‘pin the tail on the donkey’ with our lives.
    Prayers for the best.❤️

My doctors just care about the numbers, they seem to forget one has to actually live 🙄

I feel you. My doctor was concerned about my liver function (one test out of 5 had a number that was one above range) and has ordered another battery of tests. I told him I’d been taking a medication that is know to elevate liver enzymes… he just wanted to look at the numbers! Anyway I’m off that medication and I do not want to pay for unnecessary tests. So far I’ve “forgotten” those appointments….
