Same, Same, But Different – Saturday Mix, 6 August 2022

Sarah over at Weejars is our host for the MLMM Saturday Mix challenge. Click here to find out more and join in the fun!
This week we are diving into the depths of our thesaurus and exploring the world of synonyms.

Same Same But Different
Your ‘Same Same But Different’ task is to take the five challenge words and NOT use them in your writing. That’s right, you need to dig out your thesaurus and find a synonym for each word instead.

Your words are:

  1. spot
  2. rub
  3. round
  4. flat
  5. smoothDammit, I’ve got a zit on my chin! Typical as I have a hot date with a new fella tonight. He’s coming by the apartment at 8. I’ll put some cream on it and hopefully
he’ll think my skin is as soft as silk. I just won’t let him too close, so no kisses on a first date!

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  1. Nope, Not Pam says:

Great, love how you took the uncommon meaning. It worked really well

  2. I listen to a lot of audible books that are from authors from the UK. I love understanding all the different terms. nappies, flat, daft, and even just the pronunciations that are different. When I see the word flat though I wouldn’t think of an apartment. So interesting this language thing!

  3. murisopsis says:

Hehe! These substitutions make you sound American! hehe!

  4. weejars says:

Creative use of the meanings! Not cheating at all 😀
