Here’s my take:
Got to earn my keep They said, so here I am outside after dark.
I don’t mind. I’m used to being outside. I have a kennel, a comfy bed, food and water, and toys to play with. Not that I’m always left to my own devices you understand as most days I’m with Them.  They take me for walks and rides in the car and sometimes little people come and play. They’re a bit too squealy for my liking, but they don’t hurt me, just make my ears ring and there’s no volume control or off switch.
Tonight I’m on guard duty.

There’s been some looting going on in the neighbourhood and the line is a lure as it’s mostly clothes that are being taken.
There’s a camera behind me and I’m keeping watch.
A-ha. I see movement to the right. Someone is climbing the fence.
The idea is for me not to bark as they want to catch them red handed. I just have to wag my tail as if in greeting when really it’s the signal that something’s going down.
That’s the easy part.
Oh. I was not expecting that.
The guilty party is a child and he’s wearing an oversized tee shirt and jumper over shorts.
Maybe this is the only way he can keep warm.  Maybe my people can help and give him a home as they did me from the rescue shelter six months ago………………..

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
