Monday Motivation 2022

When I first joined Slimming World, I shared my success (and snags) on my blog.
With my membership more than likely to lapse thanks to Covid and my discomfort at being in the company of people I do not know that well, I thought I’d reintroduce it just to keep myself in check more than anything else.
This was me on the boat (with Maggie bless her) when I had lost almost three stones, then Humphrey made an appearance and things sort of went on hold with the weight loss due to radiotherapy.

I am going to go out on a limb and set myself a new target for the end of the year.
It’s not a lot to lose, only half a stone, but for someone like me who has been overweight for most of my adult life, I know from past experience that the old poundage is the hardest to shift, and the most soul destroying when despite the best efforts, nothing happens.

It’s a new month which just happens to start on a Monday, so a good time to start.
This morning my weight was within my existing target and my aim is to lose between one and two pounds a month, so my target is reasonable.
Wish me luck and watch this space as I’ll do a short post every Monday.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Dress sizes are better, cos sometimes you build muscle and that weighs more than fat.

    • I once tried on three dresses of different style in different sizes. They all fitted, but I ended up choosing the largest size as it was more flattering!

I buy clothes and never wear them. I’ve been making myself put them on during the weekend though, while they still fit

      • We have some we’ve never worn, but they are replacements for when what we are wearing wear out. My MIL was terrible for buying clothes. She’d do it all the time but never wear them because she’d grown to dislike them by the time she got home. She’d never take them back so FIL put a rack up in the roof and there was a good £2000 worth of clothes up there still with the labels on.

Amazing. I buy double quantities if it’s cheap and I use it often, but I wear stuff in death. The souls of my sneakers wore through last week. They were 10 years old. Hubby hot glued them back together and I’ll wear them in the garden now

      • I buy men’s joggers and tees as they are a better fit for me and longer. I have two skirts from my office days, one of which I wore the other day to try and keep cool and it hangs on me…….. not surprising as it’s four sizes too big anyway……… plus the frock I bought in 2017 for my niece’s wedding, the only time I wore it. I wear trainers until they fall off my feet, but I’m having trouble with my feet at the moment so can’t walk for as long or as far as I used to.

  2. Last week I was wondering how you were doing in that area. Your posts are full of Maya (as they should be!) so I wondered if you were on a weight sabbatical. You haven’t talked about your cheesecake in a while so I’m not surprised that your weight is stable.

    • I haven’t made a cheesecake since my birthday, but saying that I’ve been buying a frozen one for only 65p and synning it when we’ve had it. I’m still being careful but I think losing a few extra pounds won’t hurt. My scales are friendly though, so I;m going to have to be tough on myself!

I’m in your corner rooting you on! I hope the pounds melt away easily (though I know that is not the way it happens)…

  7. the sweets and each time he goes shopping he buys me cheese. I plan on cutting out most of the dairy and as much of the sugar as I can without putting myself into a binge!

Hello Di, Good to see you are making positive steps, its about the weight but its also about feeling good within yourself.
I’ve stepped away from the blog for a while, covid got me, but also a degree of feeling I had nothing more to write. They tell me that may pass, I shall wait and see.
Hope all is well on your side of the globe. We had big floods here a few weeks back, roads blocked and all that sort of thing. We are drying out now, but the lawns are thriving.

    • Hi Michael. Lovely to hear from you. I wondered if all was OK as your blog has been quiet. Sorry to hear Covid got you. It’s been doing the rounds in our road but so far we’ve been lucky. We’ve had rain for the last couple of days so the garden is rejoicing, as are the weeds. No floods close to us though. We hear the sea some nights and it sounds pretty angry!
I’ve cut back on my blog too at the latter end of the week as I was spending too much time in front of the keyboard and time was getting away from me one way or another.
Hope you’ve made a full recovery now. Take care.
