Somehow it had looked much better in his head.
He wanted his new home to have an aspect of fun for the kids as well as being unique, but somehow those thoughts had not transferred well to paper let alone the finished article.
He wondered if perhaps he had got his measurements confused, using both imperial and metric, but the authorities had passed each section of the build as it had been completed.
As he stood back to admire, or despair at, his handiwork, his wife came up behind him and kissed him on the cheek.
‘It’s wonderful,’ she said. ‘Not many wives have a new home that comes wrapped up in a bow.’
