People Watching with a twist: a reblog

A happy memory from our boating days for the Friday Flashback challenge. The couple concerned later went on to become water gypsies and we lost touch, then moved away from the marina ourselves. We because liveaboards in July 2014 and they got married on our first boating anniversary!
So hard to believe that is now 8 and 7 years ago respectively.

Just a few days ago, we noticed our neighbours 2 boats down walking along the pontoon laden down with clothes fresh from the cleaners.
We are not nosy people and respect our fellow boaters’ privacy, but we chat with everyone, and have a laugh and a joke on many an occasion.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  1. Oh what a wonderful memory!

    • We had a great time and if health matters hadn’t got the better of us, would probably still be on the boat, though not in the same marina.

      • I know we are the same. Not long ago, I honestly intended to stay in our RV forever. But, health concerns overruled that decision for us as well. 😉

      • Just read your post on Covid. Hope you can at least get some rest.

      • This is the weird part. I’m too sick to sleep. ;-p stupid virus

      • So far we have managed to avoid it, but it is closing in as more and more people in our road just throw into the conversation that they are recovering from Covid after we have been talking to them for a little while! We are up to three couples and two families in the last three weeks.

      • I sure hope you can continue to avoid it. We’re both fully vaccinated and boosted which seems to help. The only really aggravating symptom seems to be the muscle pain and weakness. Argh thanks so much for all your good vibes ☺️

      • We’ve had our jabs and boosters too, but then so have the recent victims of it. We may be offered a second booster according to reports, but aren’t holding our breath. We don’t socialise that much and when we do it’s out in the open when we’re walking the dog or shopping, the latter of which we usually mask up. Hope things are a little easier today.

    What a sweet idea
