Today is Saturday 2nd July

It has been a busy morning and much has been accomplished. Hubby took Maya for her morning walk and so much progress is being made off lead when it is one on one!
Today she played with three white furballs that live near the park and are known to us.
I thought they were chows, but google images show the face is wrong, so they may be samoyeds. I will ask next time I see them.
After getting over her initial uncertainty and hiding behind Hubby’s legs, she had a lot of fun, even walking along the beach off lead with them. There are several labradors at class but they are different colours so this was the first time she had encountered three dogs all the same.

When he got back, Hubby serviced the lawn mower as I got on with the housework.
Then while I was cutting the grass and back meadow (our back lawn is covered in clover and purple vetch which attracts the bees giving Maya something else to play with in the garden), he set to with moving our chainlink fence forward as our pup is digging under the conifers again. When I’d finished, I gave him a hand.
He took Maya for a walk round the block while I got lunch and we have now both taken painkillers and put our feet up for the afternoon.
Photo taken today, 2nd July.

Keep safe everyone.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  1. It sounds like a busy day, Di. I was interested to read you both take painkillers. Do you have to take them often? I just wonder because my mom has a lot of pain from arthritis but she reluctant to take pain killers.

    • We don’t take them unless absolutely necessary.
I took some paracetamol though I do have something stronger in the drawer if I really need it, but Hubby takes dihydrocodeine only when he feels he has to.

Sounds like a good start to the day and I swear Maya is growing every time I see her 💜💜😊

Sounds a productive day! We are going to have to make some alterations to our fence – there is too big a gap and Mochi is just small enough that we are afraid she will be able to squeeze under and either escape or get caught!

What a lovely day you both had and maya too! Glad she got to play with some doggies! xo

She is so spoilt 😊. I have terrible arthritis and my doctor recommended compression gloves, it might be an idea, the gloves have really helped

    • I know. Maggie and Barney were too. I have arthritis in both hands as well as my back, knees and feet. Most days are bearable, but sometimes the pain gets the better of me.
