5 Favourite (Non alcoholic) Summer Drinks
I am not a drinker anyway but have fond memories of falling off my bar stool in Amsterdam after two small glasses of their beer. It was a hot day and the first didn’t touch the sides, the second was tasty but I never finished the third. Hubby did warn me!
But I digress………………

As a kid, I loved ice cream soda…….. one generous scoop of ice cream in a glass topped up with lemonade. Swizzle stick optional!

Smoothies.… Hubby treated me to a smoothie maker last year for my birthday but it developed a leak so we had to replace it for a different model and design. Any fruit went in along with a pot of yogurt. Very nice…….. and moreish!

Fruit flavoured water, though not a good idea when dieting as it’s full of sugar and gives me gas. Still nice though!

Milkshakes: I make mine with ice cream, instant whip and milk.

Soda water and lime with ice: this was my drink of choice when playing darts.

Luckily for me I can have all of these any time, not just in the Summer.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

LOL to your story about the beers. I hardly ever drink alcohol, so that could easily happen to me too.

    I love smoothies too!

    • It’s why I don’t drink as I can’t handle it, so don’t bother. I have a bottle of Baileys here I treated myself to for Christmas and haven’t opened as I’m likely to stagger opening the bottle LOL.

We call ice cream and Skoda drinks spiders, I loved them as a kid, but now my fave summer drink is good old water

  5. Great choices Di! ๐Ÿ™‚ They have fruit flavored tonic sparkling water over here that’s sans sugar. It has too much carbonation though, and tends to upset my system, so I have two, almost full containers of them in lime and berry. It’s good enough in a pinch I suppose. And I need to look at the salt content… hmm. ๐Ÿค”

I don’t do alcohol or caffeine – my favorites are Propel brand water (zero calorie), Taro bubble slush, Cherry limeade, Milk, and as a treat only at the holidays egg nog (non-alcoholic)!
