I’m not very good at combining prompts, but Fandango’s and Sadje’s challenges seem to go together this week.

For the visually challenged writer, the photo is of a girl sitting inside a tent. She’s reading a book and has a smile on her face.

For the visually challenged reader this image shows a red motor boat anchored near a quay. There is a small buoy floating near it. In the distance you can see a small island.
It had seemed such a wonderful idea to come away together for the weekend.Chris badly needed a break from work and Sam had had enough of family politics.
Both were looking forward to some quality time alone but as with some of the best laid plans, things didn’t go as well as they’d anticipated.
Sam did nothing but moan about every little thing from not having a flush loo and a shower to insect bites and being unable to cook a decent meal on a single burner.
Chris just wanted to relax in the peace and tranquility of nature.
Arguments followed and within an hour Sam stormed off.
The motor boat on the jetty was a joy to find, and the man sitting in the little hut said a trip to the island was £3. Sam handed over the money and climbed aboard. The engine purred into life and they set off.
The island had a small hotel at a modest cost, so Sam booked a room and sent Chris a text so that she wouldn’t worry.
Chris read the message and shrugged.
Sam realised that their friendship had run its course and as she had the tent and all the equipment, she was content to make a brew and curl up with her book.
Very real life like. Thanks Di for joining in. Great combination of both the prompts.
Thanks Sadje
You’re welcome
Sometimes opposites do t always attract.
Well I guess it worked out for the best
Both got what they wanted and a little insight into what the future may have held.
Camping can separate the men from the boys. In a similar fashion it can make or break a relationship! Love the story!
Thanks…….. could have been two girls too!
